A one-of-a-kind race, right here in Homewood

The Run Forest Run was conceived while running through the cool air and rugged trails of the Izaak Walton Preserve after finishing yet another cookie-cutter road race with hundreds of strangers fighting for space, checking satellite watches and complaining about the size or design of the race shirt.

What was born from this frustration would change runners' perception of what a running race could be: a limited field, a thoughtfully designed shirt, standing shoulder to shoulder with local, friendly runners and enjoying the simple pleasure of running.
